Walgreens is a great place to buy organic produce, but it doesn’t always have the best prices. I always look forward to visiting Walmart as a matter of course and one of the best things about Walmart is that they can sell food at lower prices than grocery stores. WalMart has been criticized for not lowering their prices enough, but it’s not really their fault. The chains are owned by a single corporation, and all that corporate money is poured into their operations. It’s a very poor strategy for them to try to compete with giant chains like WalMart, but the current business models of WalMart and WalMarts don’t really lend themselves to that specific approach.
I agree. WalMart, in my opinion, is very poorly run and very wasteful of resources, especially in the health and food category where most of their items are sold. The food that they sell has less nutritional value than other grocery stores, and is often treated as a commodity with low quality.
